[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s of now I am completely finished with my first year of uni! YAY. I had my final exam a week ago and in that week of revision, my friend Jasmin from teaandtwigs.de asked me as her plus one to afternoon tea at the Langham hotel. Weighing up the revision time to delicious sandwiches I decided to go for the obvious. (don’t do this if you actually want good grades, do this if you want good food.)
The Langham hotel is gorgeous and located near Oxford circus so very easy to get to from any area around London! I had never been here before, or any other fancy hotel for that matter, so I was extra excited when I walked through the doors. All the chandeliers and massive mirrors obviously made quite the impact but I even was over the top impressed by the fancy toilets and good-smelling hand lotion. What can I say, I don’t get an opportunity to go to fancy hotels very often! (everyone could tell)
I loved meeting the hotel’s lovely PR team and we were looked after so so well as soon as we arrived! We started of by having a small baking ”behind the scenes” session in the kitchen where all the magic happens! As you may have figured out from my instagram stories, I am no star in the kitchen so when I realised I would just be drinking Champagne and watching the chefs do the baking I was very happy and a little relieved.
We saw the making of the little cake in the top right corner of this plate which was so interesting! There goes a lot of thought into their menu and they have just updated it to make the cakes healthier but still with the same amount of flavour.
We started the afternoon tea in their gorgeous tea room where there was live piano music playing and in general very relaxing vibes. All the sandwiches and cakes were in detail explained to us, even with a guide of which ones to eat first! The champagne at the table was topped up the whole time (which I could definitely feel on my walk home) and made it so special!
Afternoon tea at the Langham hotel has by far been the best quality afternoon tea i have ever had, from good delicious sandwiches to THE BEST scones on planet earth – they have it all. I am so thankful for this opportunity to have gotten a taste of the new menu and would highly recommend going here if you have a special occasion. I wouldn’t personally go here on just a regular day but I will definitely be taking my mum out for Mother’s day etc! The place is just stunning and I love how relaxed it is. The best thing about the afternoon tea is the service, all the waiters that were serving our table were super friendly and knew everything ranging from the food ingredients to the history of the hotel! Amazing.
Excuse me whilst I have to go make mini sandwiches after writing this.
